ABOUT ME

Welcome to my new website. This is my first ever blog and I hope it is my first of many. My company as you are aware is called Enchanted Dream Events Limited but call us 'Enchanted' for short.

There are many wedding and event companies out there some of which have over 15, 20, 25 years of experience in the wedding or hospitality industry. I do not have this amount of years of experience but what I do have is passion, creativity and a love for this chosen career. Three key things that make you strive in business.

My role models in life and business are my Parents who have raised me together in now 30 years of marriage and run a very successful business of 19 years. I have seen the hard work, blood, sweat and tears that have gone into building their business but this has not been enough to put me off building my own empire. They have shown me everything i know in life. I am who I am today because of them.

I believe, sorry i mean to say I KNOW I have all of the foundations to make me succeed with my business. More importantly I get to make people happy along the way. Celebrating with my clients through celebatory milestones is such a rewarding and memorable job, I cant really call it a job, its my hobby.

Where did this all start?

When I was 17 myself and my mum were organising friends parties and family weddings, more so my mum than me as I was at sixth form studying my A levels, but I couldnt wait on an evening to sit there making wedding favours and prettys with my mum.

When I left sixth form I handed out some CV's and got a a few job offers within a few days. I attended my first interview and got the job there and then. I was a receptionist/ office junior. I knew then that I was in the wrong job and felt I should be doing more. While working for this company I started a portfolio in the evenings of wedding favours. I would practise making favours and researched local suppliers I could work with.

About 12 months later I went to work for my parents as an office junior, it was here I started to enjoy going to work, I learnt the products, the client base, and the company structure, a few years in I started taking on the sales role and visiting customers while working closely with my father.

In addition to working in sales I took on a few little extra projects at work..

While working for the family run business over the passed 9 years I had found myself every year organising charity fundraising events at the work place. I organised about 3 charity events a year such as 'Children In Need' and 'Red nose day'. One year I had sat down for the evening to watch the TV and I watched a documentary about the 'witch children'. This documentary was so hard watch and all I could do the following days was speak about this with friends and colleagues. I then created literature and fundraising material to raise money for this cause. This fundraising continued for a number of different charities and we still raise money to date. I then got engaged in 2008 and spent 2 years organising my wedding, hen party and I even had an engagemnet party. Then I became pregnant and planned my baby shower, along came my son in 2012........it hit me....I thought 'now what do I do?

As I progressed working for my parents I started to grow my confidence in business and this is when a few years ago I started Enchanted Dream Events Limited.

What makes me stand out from other event companies like myself?
